With the rising environmental needs to look into green energy, this timely session covered important concepts and applications of solar energy and solar cells. Participants learnt about what the solar cells are made up of, advantages of solar energy, the working principles and prospects of organic/polymer solar cells. Various demonstrations on Solar energy and its effects were used to illustrate the concepts in an engaging fashion. In addition, there were exciting quizzes with special token to be won. Indeed, this “green” session had definitely given the participants a good opportunity to interact with the scientist, and to know more about the potential of Solar energy.
