Biopolis Flu Forum Back to Press & Events Reports
The recent H1N1 influenza scare is a current topic and one which will be re-visited for years to come! Students and
members of the public took time off from their busy schedules to attend a discussion forum of this constant-evolving virus.

The two-hour long forum kicked off with Dr Kelvin Wong giving an introduction to the available A*STAR scholarships for
those interested in a career in research. Dr Jason Kreisberg then gave a brief introduction on the evolution of the virus,
and was the moderator for the panel of nine subject experts. The forum then proceeded to become a sharing session
with the audience, in which the researchers from various fields and expertise offered their views and comments on the
ongoing influenza topic. Members of the audience were also invited to clear their doubts with these experts via the use
of SMSes (Short Message Service). This forum was highly informative and a worthy addition to science.09.
