Career Forum Back to Press & Events Reports
The career forum was held successfully on 19 August 2009 at Science Centre Singapore. More than 120 students from
8 schools to join the session for an insight about a career in the various fields of science such as bioprocessing technology,
microelectronics, biochemistry, genomics etc.

The two hour session kicked off with A/Prof Lim Tit Meng from NUS giving an introduction about science.09 and the forum.
Prof Lim was also the moderator for the session.

Speakers at the forum were Dr Ng Huck Hui and Dr Paul Robson from the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS, A*STAR),
Dr Alastair Trigg from the Institute of Microelectronics (IME, A*STAR) and Dr Su Chun Wei from the Singapore Institute of
Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech, A*STAR). The speakers shared with the students their aspirations and their motivations
in becoming scientists. In addition, information about the backgrounds and qualifications needed for the various works and
the hardship and joy of the working environment. The students had a great time listening and asking the speakers questions
during the session.
