Why do this and that happen? How can we explain the logic behind all phenomenons?
Where can you learn more about science? Which carnival provides fun exhibits and hands-on activities to promote science?
What event allows you to learn and have fun at the same time? From 15th – 20th September 2009, thousands of people,
both young and old, got their answers at the Kids Science Fest. The free-admission six-day event challenged everyone
to “Ask Why?”

The Science Fun Fair Zone enabled kids to learn different aspects of science. Some of the
fun-filled activities will include rotating hexagonal rings, learning about the human brain,
learning the physics behind balancing and juggling and the diving ketchup experiment.
|

The Science Explorer Zone was a workshop on series and parallel circuits. Kids had fun
making their own simple circuit which they can bring home.
|

Stage Games and Quizzes were conducted at different intervals to challenge the audience on
different science topics. Participants who answered correctly walked away happily with their prizes.

The “Science for Life!” Science Shows were presented by Ms Elisa McGowan and Ms Kimiko
Holder at different time slots throughout the whole six days. The two performers came all the
way from Scitech Discovery Centre, Perth, Australia and excited the audiences with their
top-notch performances. They engaged participants with their witty conversations and interactive
scientific investigations. Experiments on whether the mixing of Mentos and Pepsi will cause
excessive effervescence and the popping of popcorns using energy from cell phones was possible
were shown “live’ to the audiences.
